Should old concentration camp guards be prosecuted by a court of law or should their crimes be allowed to go unpunished? In an interview on radio station Deutschlandradio Kultur on July 23, 2013, Michael Wolffsohn argued in favor of the latter view, not least of all to prevent criminals from being seen as martyrs. The radio interview met with a strong media response, with more than 60 newspapers quoting Wolffsohn's criticism of the head money offered by the Simon-Wiesenthal Centre for perpetrators of Nazi crimes.
